Don't Miss These Great Movies On DVD

Over the course of my many years as an avid movie fanatic, I have consistently learned one important thing. That a great movie is usually not the big blockbusters or the ones heavily promoted by the studio's who make and are involved with them. Spiderman comes to mind as an exception. And I know there are more. Late in 2008 I looked on craigslist in all 50 states at the movies that were being sold. And I discovered one important thing. Most the movies being sold were the ones always pushed as the best movies of the year, etc. The same ones being sold, in state after state. Most of the movies listed here were not being sold on craigslist. So common sense tells you two things: either people have these and are keeping them, or a lot of people don't know about them. That is my take. All the movies listed here I own. Most of these titles are rated high by Internet reviewers. People like yourself. And I watch these over and over. I would never part with these titles. Now I know everyone has different taste. For me, my expectations are very high for a really good movie. So I hope you enjoy the selections and maybe you will find some titles that will peak your interest.

1992 Starring Harvey Keitel A corrupt cop, with a serious drug and gambling addiction, investigates the rape of a nun, and tries to change his ways and find forgiveness. A powerful story with great performance by Keitel. Don't miss.

1988 Starring Jodie Foster, Mark Harmon, Harold Ramis, Johnathan Silverman A washed-up baseball player is called home to handle the ashes of his first love/babysitter who committed suicide, and recalls the good times, and the experiences they shared together. This is a very good movie. Don't miss.

1999 Starring Tom Cruise, Julianne Moore, William H Macy, Phillip Seymor Hoffman, Jason Robards, John C Reilly. This is an epic story of several people searching for love, happiness and forgiveness in San Fernando Valley. This is a great movie that should have won an Oscar. Don't miss.

2000 Starring Geoffrey Rush, Kate Winslett, Joaquin Phoenix, Michael Caine The story of the Marquis de Sade's long imprisonment at the Chartenton Insane Asylum during the French Revolution. He is allowed to still write, but when one of his books shows up in Paris, all his paper and writing instruments are taken away. What does the Marquis write? Pornographic stories. In great detail. I normally do not like period pieces at all, but this is different. And an excellent movie. Don't miss.

1986 Starring Goldie Hawn, Swoosie Kurtz, Jan Hooks, Nipsey Russell, Wesley Snipes, Woody Harrelson, Bruce McGill When Molly wants to coach a high school football team, everybody laughs, even the players and don't think she will last. But when she finally proves to the team that she knows what she's doing, they become winners and find themselves in the state championship game. A great movie. Very funny don't miss.

1992 Starring Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thorton, Michael Beach, Cynda Williams When a ruthless trio goes on a murder spree, two LA detectives need the help of a small town sheriff in Star City, when the killers are believed to be heading. An excellent movie. Co-written by Billy Bob Thorton. Don't miss.

1990 Staring Gene Hackman, Ann Archer, JT Walsh, James Sikking, M Emmet Walsh Remake of the 1952 version. When a woman secretly witnesses a murder of her blind date by a top Mafia boss, the LA assistant DA pulls out all the stops to get her to a Grand Jury with both their lives in grave danger. This is a great movie. In my top 10. Don't miss.

1990 Starring Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez, Keith David, Leslie Hope Carl and James are two unambitious, prankster garbage men. When they find a dead politician stuffed in a barrel on their route one day, they stumble upon a business dumping toxic waste in the water of the town, and must find a way to stop it. This is a great movie. Silly but very funny. Don't miss.

1993 Starring Jeremy Irons, John Lone, Barbara Sukowa, Ian Richardson When a French diplomat in China falls in love with an opera singer, he has no idea that she has ulterior motives for the relationship. A great movie. Don't miss.

1994 Starring Eric Stoltz, Julie Delpy When Zed goes to Paris to see his friends and help rob a bank, he has no idea how crazy they have become which could jeopardize their lives in the process. This is a great movie.

1996 Starring Jennifer Tilly, Gina Gershon, Joe Pantoliano When Corky the ex-con, and Violet, the mobsters girlfriend hatch a daring plan to steal millions from the mob, their scheme is about as risky as it comes. This is a great movie. Definitely in my top 10. Don't miss it.

1998 Starring Gene Hackman, Will Smith, Jon Voight, Gabriel Byrne. A lawyer becomes a target of a corrupt politician and his government cronies when he unknowingly receives evidence to a serious political motivated crime. An edge-of-your-seat thriller. Don't miss this one.

1993 Starring Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Brad Pitt, Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Bronson Pinchot, Gary Oldman, Christopher Walkin, Samual L Jackson, Saul Rubinek, James Gandolfini, Michael Rapaport Clarence, a lonely young man meets a pretty hooker named Alabama. When the couple retrieves a suitcase full of cocaine instead of Alabama's clothes, they head to LA to sell it. They don't realize that the mobsters who own the coke and the police are on the the deal. Great movie. Screenplay by Quentin Tarentino. Don't miss.

1996 Starring George Clooney, Harvey Kietel, Salma Hayek, Juliette Lewis, Michael Parks, Kelly Preston, Cheech Marin, Quentin Tarentino. Two criminals take a family hostage and drive to Mexico for a rondevu for a business deal. However the bar is populated by vampires and they are in for the fight of their lives. A great movie. Written by Quentin Tarentino.

1980 Starring George C Scott, Melvyn Douglas When the ghost of a young boy who was murdered communicates with John Russell in an old house, he investigates and the trail leads to a US senator with a disturbing family past. This is one of the scariest movies you will ever see. A great movie.

2000 Starring Giovanni Ribisi, Vin Diesel, Ben Affleck, Nicky Katt, Scott Caan, Nia Long. A college dropout gets a job as a broker, but what they are selling is fraud and deception. A very good movie. Don't miss.

1996 Starring Jack Nicholson, Jennifer Lopez, Stephen Dorf, Judy Davis, Michael Caine When a wine store owner and a two bit criminal team up to rip off a wealthy homeowner of diamonds, they are ripped off themselves by a wife and her son. And the hunt is on to get the diamonds back. A great movie. This is in my top 20. Don't miss.

1998 Starring Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Julianne Moore, John Turturro, Phillip Seymor Hoffman Meet the "Dude". When the dude is mistaken for a millionaire, that's when his world changes. He is hired to deliver ransom money to kidnappers, but his friend changes the bag with a bag of dirty clothes. Then his car is stolen with the money in the back seat. His car is recovered, with the money gone, and a clue leads to Larry, but he isn't talking. Then the dude thinks, maybe there wasn't any money after all. You have to see this movie because then it will make sense. Some people say this is the best movie of all time. I give it a 10. But you be the judge. Don't miss.

1996 Starring Matt Dillon, Gary Sinese, Faye Dunaway, William Fichtner, Viggo Mortensen While escaping from a botched robbery attempt, three thieves find themselves surrounded by police in a New Orleans bar. However, they are not who the police are looking for. A great movie. Don't miss.

1991 Starring Anthony LaPaglia, Danny Aiello This is the story of the luckiest guy in the world. Frank Pesce. This is his story. And also the first winner of the New York State lottery. This is a great movie with an even greater story. This movie is an OOP. Out of print. You probably never heard of this movie. This movie is very rare. How rare? On a certain website, people are selling this movie used for $99.98-$122.09. New are selling for $147.76-$800. That is what I would call a great movie to ask those prices, right?

1999 Starring Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett, Phillip Seymor Hoffman In the late 1950's, Tom Ripley, a young underachiever, is sent to Europe to retrieve a spoiled rich playboy. But when the errand fails, Ripley kills the playboy and assumes his identity. An excellent movie.

1998 Starring Cuba Gooding Jr, Tom Berenger, Eric Stoltz, Marianne Jean-Baptiste A disbarred lawyer takes credit for a deceased friend's book, and soon after becomes famous for suppossedly writing it, only to find out it describes a recent murder in great detail, which makes him the prime suspect.

1995 Starring Robert DeNiro, Sharon Stone, Joe Pesci, James Woods, Kevin Pollack, Don Rickles Greed, murder, deception, money and power come between two mobster friends and a trophy wife over a gambling empire. A Scorcese film. Excellent.

2003 Starring Dustin Hoffman, Edward Burns, Andy Garcia, Paul Giamatti, Rachel Weisz, Luis Guzman Jake is a long time grifter about to pull his biggest con yet, to avenge his friends murder. But his scam backfires leaving him indebted to a mob boss, but he devises a complex con involving corporate loans, wire transfers, creative accounting and offshore accounts. Jake has to stay one step ahead of the mob boss and the cops, who also want their cut of the action. Very good movie.

1998 Starring Kevin Dillon, JT Walsh, Christopher Plummer A young medical student travels to Germany to investigate the death of his brother, only to discover and get caught up in espionage, betrayal and murder at the highest levels. A very good movie. Better than I thought it would be.

1998 Starring Matt Dillon, Kevin Bacon, Neve Campbell, Bill Murray, Denise Richards, Theresa Russell . A high school guidance counselor is framed for raping two of his students, but an outcast student may have information that will free him. No one in this movie is who you think they are. This is a very good movie with major twist and turns.

2003 Starring Gary Oldman, Ving Rhames, Brian Cox, When an ex-cops sister is brutally raped, he must go after a sadistic man from his past. C+ user rating.

2004 Starring Johnny Depp, John Turturro, Maria Bello, Charles Dutton When a introverted writer going through a divorce is accused of plagiarism by a strange man, strange things begin to happen to him that he must try to defend against and prove his innocence. Story by Stephen King. A very good movie with a major surprise indeed.

1993 Starring Gary Oldman, Lena Olin, Roy Scheider, Julliette Lewis, Will Patton, Annabella Sciorra A corrupt cop who tips off the mob of witness's locations in exchange for money, has the tables turned on him when he's bribed to kill a female Russian assassin, while keeping an affair with his sister-in-law a secret. This is one of my top ten favorite movies. Excellent.

1990 Starring Mickey Rourke, Anthony Hopkins, Mimi Rodgers, Kelly Lynch, Lindsay Krouse, David Morse A great remake of a Humphrey Bogart classic. When a man on trial for murder escapes with the help of his lawyer, he takes a family hostage in their home and terrorizes them, but the FBI is determined to put and end to his crime spree and is closing in on him. An excellent movie. Mickey Rourke is great in this.

2005 Starring Jennifer Anniston, Clive Owen When two married business executives having an affair are blackmailed by a ruthless and violent criminal, they must turn the tables on him in order to save their families. But a shocker lies ahead for the husband as everything is not what he thought it was. This is an excellent movie with more than a few BIG surprises.

1997 Starring Kurt Russell, Kathleen Quinlan, JT Walsh When a couple's car breaks down on a lonely stretch of highway in the middle of the desert, the wife gets a lift from a friendly trucker to the nearest town for help. However she disappears and no one has seen her, not even the trucker who helped her. And the whole town seems to be in on it. A great movie. This one is in my top 10 favorites.

2004 Starring Pierce Brosnan, Selma Hayek, Woody Harrelson, Don Cheadle, Chris Penn. When master jewel thieves retire to the Carribean, a determined FBI agent who tracks them down, doesn't believe they've given up their trade, especially when a cruise ship carrying a rare diamond on display docks at the island marina. A very good movie with some great twists.

2003 Starring Val Kilmer, Kate Bosworth, Dylon McDermott, Josh Lucas, Tim Blake Nelson, Cristina Applegate, Lisa Kudrow A true story. When porn king John Holmes in 1981 orchestrates a daring robbery of a wealthy LA businessman with his drug crazed friends, revenge is brought down on the group in a bloody way. These murders were turned into the book "Four on the floor" written by two investigating detectives. An excellent movie. Not for the squimish.

2005 Starring Jenna Mattison, Armand Assante, Betty White, Sean McGuire Bookstore clerk Maggie is granted three wishes after finding the Charles Dickens book "Great Expectations." Soon after Maggie becomes a millionaire by an anonymous benefactor, but it means nothing to her when she wants to find out the truth about her past. This is a fairy tale type movie primarily for the ladies, but I thought it was a very good movie. Better than it is rated by users.

2001 Starring Malcom McDowell, Jeremy Ratchford In a small Alaska town, women are turning up murdered, and most believe the sheriff is the main suspect, but is the real killer being overlooked? A dark drama-thriller.

1998 Starring Sandra Bernhart, Peter Stormare A quirky group of tenants on New York City's Lower East Side deal with the everyday trials and tribulations of their lives. Very funny.

1998 Starring Nicholas Cage, Gary Sinese, John Heard, Kevin Dunn, Luis Guzman A corrupt police detective finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy involving a best friend and a murdered government official, and is determined to find out the truth. A great edge of your seat thriller. Directed by Brian DePalma.

2007 Starring Bruce Willis, Josh Brolin, Freddy Rodriquez, Jeff Fahey A Quentin Tarentino-Robert Rodriquez film When an experimental bio-weapon is releashed, turning thousands into zombie like creatures, it's up to a small group of survivers to stop the chaosis and find the culprits behind the disaster. This movie is made in the 60's type drive-in movie genre. Very good.

2005 Starring Guy Pierce, Ray Winstone A lawman apprehends a notorious outlaw and gives him 9 days to kill his brother or else his younger brother will be executed. A very slow paced drama but very violent at times. A good movie. Guy Pierce is always excellent to watch.

2006 Starring Clive Owen, Michael Caine, Julianne Moore, Chiwetel Ejiofor In the year 2027, a chaotic world where humans cannot have babies, a woman who finds she is miraculously pregnant, and is helped by a former activist to reach a sanctuary where scientist can study her to save the future of mankind.

1989 Starring Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Red Fox, Danny Aiella, Jasmine Guy The owner of an illegal casino must contend with a vicious gangster who wants to shut his business down. Most agree this is Eddie Murphy's best movie. A classic and totally hilarious.

1990 Starring Richard Gere, Andy Garcia, Laurie Metcalf, Nancy Travis, William Baldwin. When a corrupt LA cop is investigated by internal affairs, he strikes back and terrorizes the lead investigators wife in a cat and mouse type game. A very good thriller.

1995 Starring Johnny Depp, Christopher Walkin, Charles Dutton, Marsha Mason. When a man is chosen at random at a train station to assassinate a woman or risk having his daughter killed, he finds himself involved in a goverment conspiracy, and time is running out for him to get out of the dilema. This is one of my 10 favorite movies. An excellent thriller.

2002 Starring Julianne Moore, Dennis Quaid, Dennis Haysbert. In 1950's Connecticut, a seemingly perfect housewife in a seemingly perfect world finds herself in a marriage crisis and a scandal with racial implications that will crush longtime friendships and respect in the community. Nominated for 4 oscars.

1995 Starring William Forsythe, Vincent Gallo, Frances McDormand, Adam Trese When 3 New York friends find themselves unemployed, they decide to persue a momentary shift of lifestyles....crime. But unfortunately they're bumbling criminals. This movie is very funny and a lot better than I thought it would be. Don't miss it.

1996 Starring Danny Aiella, Angelina Jolie, Ann Archer, Alfred Molina, Michael Biehn When Al, a retired man meets a beautiful young lady at his favorite restaurant, and needs a ride home to the Mohave Desert, Al is more than happy to oblige. When Al meets the mother and her boyfriend, he falls hard for the mother, and the boyfriend is not happy. A very funny movie with lots of twists and turns. A LOT better than I first thought it would be. Don't miss.

2004 Starring Christian Bale, Michael Ironside An industrial worker with insomnia trys to get to the bottom of the strange occurrences that are happening around him. An excellent movie. Pyscho-drama.

2002 Starring Scott Wolf, Tim Roth, Gabriel Byrne When a young detective discovers he has a terminal disease that will be debilititing, he meets with a man to arrange a hit on him so he won't suffer. But when he discovers that he has been misdiagnosed, he trys to call off the hit but cannot. A really good movie. A crime-drama-thriller.

1989 Starring Val Kilmer, Michael Madsen Joanne Whalley When a young private detective is hired by a beautiful woman to fake her death, he soon discovers that his new client has ripped off her boyfriend and the mob, and now they are in for the ride of their lives. A very good movie. Don't miss.

1995 Starring David Caruso, Linda Fiorentino, Chaz Palminteri, Richard Crenna, Michael Biehn When a man in San Francisco is brutally murdered in his home, the assisant DA takes over the investigation and the trail leads to his good friend's wife. A great movie. Hard to find this one. A crime-thriller. This movie was written by Joe Eszterhas who also wrote "Basic Instinct".

2002 Starring Audrey Tautou, Chiwetel Ejiofor. When an illegal Nigerian hotel worker discovers a human organ in the toilet of one of the rooms, he uncovers a dark underworld of trafficking going on right under everyone's nose. A great movie. Don't miss this one.

1997 Starring Tim Roth, Michael Rooker, Chris Penn, Renee Zellwegger. When a textile heir is accused of a bloody murder of a prostitute, he turns the tables on the investigating detectives, and makes them look really bad. A great crime-drama- mystery-thriller. Don't miss.

2001 Starring Nicole Kidman, Ben Chaplin. When a lonely and bored man bringsRussian girl to live with him, his world is quickly turned upside down when he discovers she has been deceiving him all along. A great movie. Don't miss it.

2004 Starring Sean Penn, Naomi Watts, Don Cheadle Based on true events. When a struggling businessman is turned down for a loan, he blames President Nixon and devises a plot to hijack a plane and drop a gas bomb over the white house.

2005 Starring Pierce Brosnan, Greg Kinnear, Hope Davis When a professional hitman and a businessman meet at a bar in Mexico City, they develop a reluctant friendship, and soon the hitman needs help with an assassination plot. A good movie.

1993 Starring Brad Pitt, David Duchovny, Michelle Forbes, Juliette Lewis. When a journalist couple doing a book on famous serial killer murder sights plan a road trip, they advertise for someone to go along and help with the expenses. Little do they realize what lies ahead as one of their passengers is mentally disturbed. This is an excellent movie. A classic. Don't miss.

2007 Starring Viggo Mortenson, Naomi Watts, Armin Mueller-Stahl A Russian teenager living in London who dies during childbirth leaves clues to a midwife in her journal that could tie her child to a rape involving a powerful Russian mob family. A very good movie. Don't miss.

1994 Starring Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley A political activist is convinced that her huband's recent acquaintance is someone who tortured her years earlier for the government, and now it payback. A Roman Polanski film and it is excellent. Don't miss this one.

2007 Starring Chris Cooper, Ryan Phillippe, Laura Linney, Kathleen Quinlan, Dennis Haysbert A true story of FBI agent Robert Hansen, who was convicted of selling secrets to the Soviets. This is an excellent movie about how Hansen was finally brought down. Don't miss this one.

1999 Starring Ryo Ishibashi, Eihi Shiina A recent widower agrees to screen girls at a special audition, which his friend arranges to secretly help him find a wife. However the one he falls in love with is not as sweet and innocent as she appears. A climatic end of all ends. Japenese with english subtitles. Wow !

1989 Starring John Candy, Jeffrey Jones, Annie Potts, Barry Corbin, Tim Tomerson, Shawnee Smith Harry Crumb is a bumbling and inept private investigator who is hired to solve a kidnapping of a millionaire's daughter. His methods are ridiculous but they work. This is one of Candy's best. Hilarious. Forget the critics this is good.

1998 Starring Christian Slater, Daniel Stern. Jeanne Tripplehorn, Cameron Diaz, Jon Favreau. When a group of guys go to Vegas for a bachelor party, and thing get out of hand when a hooker ends up dead in their hotel room, they must decide what to do. And can all of them keep a secret? A very good movie. Comedy-crime-thriller.

1997 Starring Sean Penn, Jennifer Lopez, Nick Nolte, Billy Bob Thorton, Powers Booth, Jon Voight, Joaquin Phoenix, Claire Danes. A drifter becomes involved with a seductive woman after his car breaks down in a small hick town. But when the husband finds out, all hell is about to break loose. And dealing with a wackey and colorful group of residents is challenging to say the least. This is Oliver Stone's best movie most will agree. Excellent !

1994 Starring Joanne Whaley, Armand Assante, Gabriel Bryne, William Hurt, Kathleen Quinlan. When a mobster goes on trial for murder, a juror has her son's life is threatened if she doesn't vote to acquit. A very good movie.

1996 Starring Elisabeth Shue, Dermot Mulroney, Kyle MacLachlan, Michael Rooker. When a massive power blackout in LA threatens residents lifes, it can turn civilized people into doing abnormal things admid the chaosis. This is a great movie. In my top 10. Don't miss this one.

2003 Starring John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Ray Liotta, Alfred Molina Stranded at a remote Nevada motel during a rainstorm, a group of ten strangers find themselves getting acquainted until they discover they are being killed off one by one. But who is doing it? A very good tense thriller. Don't miss this.

1993 Starring Kim Basinger, Val Kilmer, Terrence Stamp. When Karen, an expert bank robber is released from prison, all she wants is to go straight. But when her parole officer and former employer want her to do one more job or her son will be killed, she has no choice in the matter. A very good movie. Don't miss.

2005 Starring Nicole Kidman, Sean Penn, Catherine Keener. When a UN interpreter accidently overhears an assassination plot against a foreign leader, will the FBI believe her? When events unfold that put her life at risk, they know she's telling the truth. A very good movie.

2002 Starring Guy Pierce, Rachel Griffiths, Robert Taylor, Joel Edgerton Three brothers who are professional bank robbers are releashed from prison and early and a scheme is hatched to pull another heist, however they are setup, and end up back in jail. They escape and seek revenge on their lawyer and crooked authorities and get back the money they stole. This is a very good movie. Don't miss.

2006 Starring George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, Toby McGuire, Beau Bridges While in post-war Berlin to cover the Potsdam Conference, an American military journalist is drawn into a murder investigation involving his mistress and driver. A good movie shot in black and white.

1997 Starring Michael Douglas, Sean Penn, Debra Kara Unger, Armin Mueller-Stahl When a wealthy businessman is given a birthday present from his brother, strange and bizarre events happen that turn his life upside down. This movie is in my top ten, and is the most original movie concept maybe ever filmed. Don't miss this one. I rate this excellent.

2003 Starring William H Macy, Maria Bello, Alec Baldwin, Paul Sorvino Bernie works at a Vegas casino as a cooler. When someone is winning, he is sent over and instantly they start losing. This is his talent. He is very valuable to the casino. But when a cocktail waitress falls hard for him, Bernie no longer has his talent. And that makes the casino manager, Shelly, very angy and puts his job on the line. A good movie.

2000 Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tilda Swinton While visiting Thailand, Richard finds a map of an island off the coast, however when he arrives, he not only finds paradise, but danger. The leader of the island commune will do anything to protect their happiness and way of life. Even if it means killing. Don't miss.

2005 Starring George Clooney, Matt Damon, Chris Cooper, Christopher Plummer A political thriller about the CIA getting involved and altering the oil business in the Middle East. Don't miss this.

1994 Starring Kevin Spacey, Frank Whaley, Michelle Forbes A young, eager film school graduate goes to work at a movie studio, and his new boss is the worst. After one year of constant riducule, yelling, mind games, and embarassment, Guy snaps. Now he must choose between his career and love by proving himself. With a gun. This is a great movie. In my top 10.

1960 Starring Peter Sellers, Richard Todd When a cosmetic salesman has his car stolen, he is determined to find the culprits. And prove to his wife that he is not a loser.

1993 Starring Richard Gere, Lena Olin, Ann Bancroft The story of a manic depressive man, and his doctor who takes takes more than a professional interest in him, even risking her career. A very good movie.

2002 Starring Ralph Fiennes, Gabriel Bryne, Miranda Richardson, Lynn Redgrave A mentally disturbed man takes residence in a halfway house, and slowly his memory returns to relieve his disturbing childhood. A very good movie.

1993 Starring Tom Berenger, Billy Zane When a military sniper named Beckett is sent a new recruit from Washington to go out on an important assignment, the mission could be in jeoprady, and cost the men their lives. An excellent movie.

1995 Starring Elizabeth Berkley, Gina Gershon Kyle MacLachlan When a drifter named Naomi gets a job at a Las Vegas casino as a showgirl, she enters a world of deceipt and backstabbing to make her way to the top. Screenplay by Joe Eszterhas, also writer of "Basic Instinct".

2000 Starring Ben Affleck, Charlize Theron, Gary Sinese, Isaac Hayes. After release from prison, Rudy assumes the identity of his dead cellmate to get with his girlfriend. When a young makeup artist working on a film in Moscow is locked in a studio after hours, she is a witness to what looks like a murder. Since she is a mute, she has a hard convincing the police and others what she saw. This is a great movie. Definitely in my top 10 believe it or not. Don't miss this.

1999 Starring Terrence Stamp, Peter Fonda, Luis Guzman. A very dangerous and violent Englishmen goes to LA to find the man he believes is responsible for his daughters death.

2008 Starring Greg Kinnear, Dermott Mulroney, Lauren Graham, Alan Alda. When a college professor Robert Kearns invents the first intermittent windshield wiper system, Ford Motor Company shows an interest in it. However, when Ford gets their hands on the protype, they are no longer interested and soon it shows up on their cars. Mr Kearns sues, and refuses to settle with the car company because they would not admit that it was his invention. A great movie that will have you cheering for the little guy.

When an Army squad is denied leave, they kidnap and rape a village girl while on a mission, but PFC Eriksson is appalled. While he helps the girl in the midst of hostilty and riducule from his buddies, he reports their actions all to deaf ears. His life is put in jeopardy every day, but he survives and eventially all his buddies are court marshaled. A great movie. Don't miss.

But when he checks into an old hotel and asks to stay in room 1408, where over 50 have died, they reluctantly oblige him. Once in the room, Mike wants out and fast. But he is stuck there. Afterwards his whole view changes on the paranormal. I thought this was a great movie. From a Stephen King Story. Don't miss.
